It's Working

Today a crew installed hay material on the lot making it look somewhat like a cornfield after harvest. A big step and hopefully the fence will come down as well. How about an ice rink for winter?

Who's the Thief

The sign is down and did anyone see the thief? It might be down at MOCA, just kidding. I think Katz owns the land or a buddy.

Sign Down

It lasted for a week but the esthetic police decided no more. Oddly,  the available retail space sign remains meaning the owner just doesn't dig the community's concerns. But there are other locations where start-the-park might work. Any suggestions?

Update

We are designing a petition to  be presented to the City  Council that will hopefully allow people to sign electronically. Some have asked about park ideas? How about an interim use as an ice rink or even better a large labyrinth. That would be really unique and be a wonderful statement about who we really are.

Take Action Now!

Park, parking lot?

Anything is almost better than this eyesore at the corner of Main St. and Chicago Ave., but quick action is needed before the winds of winter. This will only be a short-term solution, but it sure would enhance our neighborhood and make a statement as well.

Let’s not make Joni Mitchel’s “ Big Yellow Taxi” a reality. Let’s draft a petition to our parking ticket crazed City and get a park with a labyrinth.

Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome!
